I have thought for a long time that I need a plain black binder. For years I would scour store after store, looking for one of those pre-bound, not quite flat, black leatherette binders with the internal page dividers. I kept finding them, but they were always sold out. I finally found them at Michael’s. I bought two. The first one still sits in my living room and the second is on my desk at work and my main writing desk.
While I do use plain black leatherette binders, I haven’t used one on my desk for a long time. At work, I use a rather nice maroon-colored one. If I want to look like I’m in business, I put a thin layer of brown paper on the front. If I’m feeling more fancy, I use a thin layer of faux leather. This one, I’m told is called “People Tree.” It has a rather nice, almost ribbed finish to it, and it’s the only one I’ve seen that has the internal page divider pocket sewn all the way around, which is actually really nice.
I had it in my head that I’d put this black binder in our office in the basement at home, but I decided to go with what I knew rather than what I thought I should have done. I love this one just the way it is. It’s beautiful. My only complaint is that it’s a little bit too thick for a binder. It’s almost weighty, and I don’t like 0b46394aab
