January 27, 1945: The liberation day of the concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz is now an international Holocaust memorial day. Most prisoners experienced the liberation of the death march.

In the following video three witnesses report how they experienced the death march from Auschwitz to the west and what the memorial day January 27 means to them. The video is in English, German and Italian with German subtitles.

On January 27, 1945 the Red Army reached the concentration camp Auschwitz and freed around 7,000 seriously ill survivors. All of the prisoners able to march had previously been led away to the west by SS guards. The majority of the prisoners therefore did not experience the liberation of the camp, but rather were already on a cruel death march declared as an evacuation. On the march many lost their lives and were often shot. The lines passed through villages and cities where the marchers died right before the eyes of the population.

Kazuma Satou is a high school student who is very excited after buying a game. But fate has something entirely different in store for him, as he experiences a very comedic death. It does not end there as Aqua appears before him and places him at a crossroads. He can either choose to go to heaven or lead a new life in a fantasy world.

The Switch\u2019s 6.2-inch, multi-touch, 720p LCD screen is a beauty. Color production is vibrant, and it\u2019s bright enough to be played in indirect sunlight. Its generous viewing angles are a huge boon too, with a sweet spot large enough to make keeping an ideal picture easy. And even if you stray out of it, the picture remains visible in a roughly 120-degree arc \u2013 which is necessary when you\u2019re playing multiplayer games in tabletop mode. Its touch functionality is leaps and bounds beyond the Wii U\u2019s too, making it feel in line with the kinds of touch interfaces we\u2019ve all grown accustomed to interacting with on iPads and Android tablets. There are areas where I could tell Nintendo had to make compromises to hit that $299.99 price tag, but the screen wasn\u2019t one of them.

Apparently, the left Joy-Con is an area where Nintendo could\u2019ve spent a little more. I\u2019m not the only person experiencing de-syncs with it relatively often when playing with the Joy-Con detached (in or out of the Joy-Con Grip), leaving inputs temporarily unread until it reconnects a few seconds later. I\u2019ve seen it happen occasionally with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild \u2013 Link died more than a few senseless deaths this way \u2013 but more often when playing 1-2-Switch, which has several mini-games that require you to cover most of the Joy-Con with your hand, potentially interfering with its signal.

However, these issues are soothed quite a bit by playing in handheld mode. For Breath of the Wild, the Switch renders in 720p in handheld mode instead of TV mode\u2019s 900p, so frame rates were more consistent despite the fact that the Switch\u2019s GPU speed is clocked down significantly to save power when not docked. The compressed textures and lack of anti-aliasing were also far less impactful on the smaller screen and, combined with the lack of Joy-Con syncing problems, this made handheld mode my go-to when I wanted the best possible overall experience.\n 2b1af7f3a8
